Dear Sirs and Madams
We are glad to present to the lovers of Drezdenko
the first album publication, prepared with the help of
local cultural associations, concerning the history and
the present day of our city. The intention of the authors
and the owners of private archival collections concern-
ing Drezdenko was to preserve the beauty contained
in the unique climate of the city, the charm of monu-
ments and the 19
th
century streets. Time destroys the
traces of ancient epochs, close to the old city new
modern buildings are erected.
The album we have prepared is an attempt of
building a bridge between the ancient and contem-
porary Drezdenko, its aim is to encourage to take
a walk through the streets of our city, to make you
think awhile about passing time and changes it brings.
In addition to the photos of well preserved build-
ings, we’ll also find some photos of the ones that no
longer exist.
The city and its monuments become more and
more attractive, which is reflected by the growing
number of tourists and still increasing interest in the
publications concerning Drezdenko.
I wish to express my sincere appreciation to the
editorial board and all the persons who provided us
with the photos and other materials included in the
album and together with them I would like to invite
you to take a walk through the streets of the old and
new city.
Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren
Wir überlassen den Interessenten von Drezdenko
die erste Bildband-Ausgabe, die durch Bemühungen
der lokalen Kulturvereine vorbereitet wurde, die der
Geschichte und Gegenwart der Stadt gewidmet ist.
Autoren und Inhabern der Archive ist gelungen Drez-
denko ein bleibendes Andenken seiner Schönheit,
unvergleichlicher Atmosphäre, Anmut der Denkmäler,
Strassen und Gassen aus dem 19. Jahrhundert zu
schaffen. Die Zeit verwischt langsam Spuren früherer
Epochen. Neben der Altstadt entstehen Objekte, die
Elemente der gegenwärtigen Stadtarchitektur darstellen.
Der Bildband soll eine Brücke zwischen dem
früheren und gegenwärtigem Drezdenko sein und
soll zum Rundgang durch unsere Stadt anregen, zum
Besinnen über den Zeitverlauf und Änderungen
veranlassen und alles, was das mit sich bringt. Neben
den Fotos über erhalten gebliebene Objekte sind auch
solche zu finden, die für immer der Vergangenheit
angehören.
Die Stadt und seine Sehenswürdigkeiten werden
immer mehr attraktiver, was die steigende Touristenzahl
und das Interesse an Informationsmaterial über die
Stadt beweist.
Ich bedanke mich sehr herzlich bei dem Redaktions-
Kollegium und den Personen, die Fotos und andere
Informationen für die Gestaltung dieses Bildbandes
zur Verfügung gestellt haben. Gemeinsam mit diesem
Personenkreis lade ich Sie zu einem Spaziergang durch
die Altstadt und die neueren Stadtteile ein.

Oddajemy do r¹k mi³oœników Drezdenka pierw-
sze, przygotowane staraniem lokalnych stowarzyszeñ
kultury, albumowe wydawnictwo poœwiêcone historii
i teraŸniejszoœci miasta. Intencj¹ autorów i posiadaczy
archiwalnych zbiorów dotycz¹cych Drezdenka by³o
utrwalenie jego piêkna, tkwi¹cego w niepowtarzalnym
klimacie miasta, uroku zabytkowych obiektów oraz
dziewiêtnastowiecznych ulic i uliczek. Czas zaciera
powoli œlady dawnych epok, obok starego miasta po-
wstaj¹ obiekty stanowi¹ce elementy wspó³czesnej ar-
chitektury miejskiej.
Album, który oddajemy do Pañstwa r¹k, stanowi
próbê budowania pomostu miêdzy dawnym a wspó³-
czesnym Drezdenkiem, ma zachêciæ do spaceru po na-
szym mieœcie, sk³oniæ do zadumy nad up³ywem czasu
i zmianami, jakie to ze sob¹ niesie. Obok zdjêæ, utrwa-
laj¹cych zachowane obiekty, znajdziemy te¿ i takie, które
ilustruj¹ sceny bezpowrotnie tkwi¹ce w przesz³oœci.
Miasto i jego zabytki staj¹ siê coraz bardziej
atrakcyjne, o czym œwiadczy wzrastaj¹ca co roku liczba
turystów oraz zainteresowanie wydawnictwami zwi¹-
zanymi z Drezdenkiem.
Sk³adam serdeczne wyrazy podziêkowania kole-
gium redakcyjnemu oraz osobom, które udostêpni³y
do publikacji fotografie i inne materia³y zamieszczone
w albumie, wspólnie z nimi zapraszam Pañstwa do
spaceru po starym i nowym mieœcie.
